A shipwreck occurred in Mozambique, causing at least 91 deaths and 34 people missing. Among the dead were several children.
The incident occurred in the sea area near Mozambique Island in the northern Nampula province of the African country. Authorities said that the wrecked vessel was converted from a fishing boat and carried about 130 people. Due to overloading and being not suitable for carrying passengers, the ship eventually sank. So far, 5 survivors have been found, and 2 of them have been sent to the hospital.
The authorities also said that untrue messages about cholera in the local area caused panic, and people rushed to board the ship to escape, resulting in serious overloading.
