"The Tokyo Rainbow Pride (Tokyo Rainbow Pride)" organization is an organization that calls for the protection of the rights and interests of LGBTQ, which is the sexual minority group, for short, TRP. Since 2012, the organization has held parade activities around Shibuya District in Tokyo every April or May each year. Except for the online activities changed in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of participants gather at the annual parade every year. It is the largest LGBTQ parade activity in Asia.
This year, the parade was held as scheduled in Tokyo, with about 15,000 people participating, including ambassadors from Britain, the United States, and other countries in Japan. They said, "In the near future, whether it is same-sex marriage or opposite-sex marriage, Japan will achieve 'arriage' without distinction."
Ambassadors from various countries in Japan participated in the activities of the "Tokyo Rainbow Pride" organization and called for the "legalization of same-sex marriage." This organization aims to eliminate prejudice and discrimination against sexual minority groups.
The US ambassador to Japan said, "In the near future, Japan will achieve 'arriage' that does not distinguish between same-sex or opposite-sex marriage."
The Danish Minister for Gender Equality said, "We should move forward instead of backward. Everyone has the right to choose their own life and the right to stick to themselves.
About 15,000 people participated in this parade. People held banners with the theme of this year written on them, "Never give up until the change," and rainbow-colored flags that symbolize diversity, calling for the realization of a society where everyone can live easily.
Participants in the event said, "The number of people increases every year, and it feels more and more diverse. I hope in the near future, the word LGBTQ itself will disappear and become nothing special."
