The second round of voting in Slovakia's presidential election showed that pro-Russian parliament speaker Peter Pellegrini defeated pro-EU candidate Ivan Korcok, a former foreign minister.
After the preliminary vote count, Pellegrini told supporters that after taking office, he would support the government in improving national life and ensure that Slovakia stands on the side of peace rather than war.
Kolchowk admitted defeat but criticized his opponents for winning by spreading fear. Korchok has always believed that stopping the supply of weapons to Ukraine will not bring peace, but will only allow Russia to win.
