The US revises export restrictions on Chinese chips, including laptops with advanced chips
The US Department of Commerce revised and updated on Friday the export restriction measures on artificial intelligence chips to China. The newly released regulations involve 166 pages, specifying the relevant export control, and also apply to laptops containing these chips. It will take effect from next Thursday (April 4).
The US Department of Commerce said it plans to continue to update the export restrictions on China to strengthen and adjust the relevant measures.
These regulations were released in October last year and are intended to stop the export of more advanced artificial intelligence chips designed by US chip giant Nvidia and other companies to China, as part of a series of measures to prevent China from acquiring US cutting-edge technology to enhance its military power.
